Laser Pigmentation Removal is designed to reduce the appearance of selected benign pigmented spots and create a clearer, brighter and more even-looking complexion. At Aesthetic Space Lausanne, the treatment is performed with the Candela GentleMax Pro Plus®, an advanced dual-wavelength laser platform combining Alexandrite 755 nm and Nd:YAG 1064 nm technologies. Sun exposure, ageing and other factors can lead to areas of excess pigmentation that appear darker than the surrounding skin. Depending on the type, depth and colour of the pigmentation, precisely controlled laser energy can target melanin within selected spots while minimising exposure to the surrounding skin. Laser energy is absorbed by pigment within the targeted area. Following treatment, the spot may temporarily become darker before gradually fading as the treated pigment is naturally cleared by the skin. The Candela GentleMax Pro Plus® incorporates the Dynamic Cooling Device™, which helps cool and protect the surface of the skin during treatment and improves comfort. How many sessions are needed? Some superficial pigmentation may show significant improvement after a single treatment, while other areas may require several sessions. Results depend on the type and depth of pigmentation, skin type and individual response. Temporary redness, mild swelling, darkening of the treated pigmentation or small crusts may occur after the procedure. These reactions usually resolve gradually. Recent sun exposure or tanning can affect whether laser treatment can be performed safely. Sun protection is particularly important before and after treatment. Not every type of pigmentation is suitable for laser treatment. An individual assessment is therefore essential before the procedure. The goal is to make unwanted pigmentation less visible and achieve a clearer, fresher and more even-looking complexion.
